Cited Reference Searching

This tutorial shows how you can access the references which appear in the Scopus documents and the documents which cite the Scopus documents.

The search results page offers an additional results list.

The More... results list contains the references in the Scopus documents which match your search criteria.

The complete documents are not available in Scopus.

Scopus feature/functions are limited for these references.

Let's go back to our Scopus search results.

The Scopus search results page contains two options to retrieve document citations related to your research.

To review a list of documents which are referenced in your Scopus search results, select the Scopus documents and click the References button.

You can also retrieve a list of documents which cite those references.

To return to your original Scopus search results, click the Re-select documents link.

To retrieve a list of documents which cite the Scopus documents in your search results, select the documents and click the Cited by button.

You can also retrieve a list of documents which are referenced in the Cited-by documents.

Or go further into the Cited-by documents and retrieve a list of documents which cite the Cited-by documents.

Now, let's look at the documents referenced in a Scopus document.

To go directly to the document's references, click the View references link.

To view the references in a result list format, click the view in table layout link.

Here, many of the results list features and functions can be applied to the reference list.

Let's go back to the Scopus document page.

The document references for the author's documents may be available.

Click the author details icon to retrieve the author's detail page.

The number of references the author has used in his/her documents is displayed.

To view the references in a results list, click on the Reference number.

Many of the Scopus results list features and functions are available.
